The bummer of the evening is that Alex has a fever. Last night when I went to check on him he felt hot but I didn't check his temp. Should have followed my gut. Tonight he seemed a bit quiet and mellow, so we took his temperature and discovered it was over 102. Tylenol was given, and a few hours later it had climbed once more to 103-104 ish. Thank goodness for a 24 hour nurse advice line we call. Poor little buddy is now downstairs in bed with Steve- stripped to his diaper with a cool washcloth on his forehead. We did manage to get him to eat a cracker and are pushing the water consumption. Alex is such a sweetie, and Steve is an amazing father and husband. He insists on being in bed with Alex and is taking care of him so I can get some rest. I have to accept help and say thanks. Steve is fantastic in so many ways. Little Sierra has no fever but decided to party until past 11 pm. Why? No clue. I did give her another snack after she drained my boobs for the third time. She loves cheese and blueberries. I finally tucked her in again, for the fifth time, and let her soft cry a teeny bit. Now I think she is asleep. Shhhh... Hopefully our little Alexander will be feeling better in a few hours and hopefully his fever will be lower when I go to check on him at 2 a.m. Fingers crossed that Sierra won't get one too.
Nighty night!
