You are a crawling cruiser, standing up and holding onto things, shrieking with joy, laughing, giggling, and absolutely a happy little girl. Saying "Mama" "Dadda" and making owl noises too. What fun we all have with you and how we love you so! Alexander watches out for you in many ways. He runs and shuts the front and back doors so you won't explore onto the steps. He trades toys with you to keep you safe. "That's not for you sister," he says. And it is so fun to watch you wrestle with him. Usually that means that Mommy or Daddy brings you over to him and then you grab his hair or start to crawl on top of Alex. It's awesome to watch you both play together and smile.
Look at all your curly hair!
In the last couple weeks, you have transitioned from baby food to big people food. I think your favorite new food is Mommy's pesto n' peas pasta. You eat and eat and eat it! We also love blueberries and raspberries. Yummy! This fall, your brother will start preschool a couple mornings a week. What shall we do for fun? We sure love you little one!
Tonight, we all drove to Build A Bear, where Alex literally said, "Goodbye binkies," and then put them into a fox stuffed animal.
We've been talking for a while about how he needs to say bye to the binks so his teeth will be healthy. There were no tears for Alex. No excitement either. Just a boy on a mission. To create his stuffed animal friend. He named it 'Seattle' of course... just like the others he has. It was so sweet. Steve and I found ourselves teary eyed (and wondering how tonight's bedtime routine would go... as I type this, Steve is tucking Alex in.)
The main concern our three year old lovie has is 'what will I rub my nose with?'. He has formed a habit of holding one binky in his mouth and then takes the other binky, rubs it on something fuzzy, and then rubs it on his nose. Over the past few years we have purchased many many binkies... where they have gone, no idea. Well, one binky for sure he dropped into an open outlet space in the wall.
As he created 'Foxy' as I call him, Alex kissed each binky goodbye and then stepped on the stuffing pedal as the build a bear employee stuffed the new furry friend. Then he kissed the little heart he chose for his fox, and when it was all sewn up- he then went over and gave it a long 'bath' and 'dried him/her off'. Next came choosing an outfit and shoes. First, he had to pick out a green tractor for Seattle to drive. Absolutely perfect, don't you think?! He also chose a guitar and a pair of eye glasses. For an outfit, he chose white underwear, a jeep shirt and jeans, and a pair of plaid slip on canvas shoes. Seattle is stylin'!
It was a memorable night...
and we will report back later on how bedtime went tonight!
