Sunday morning adventure
After sleeping in this morning, you, Daddy, and I drove along the gorge and headed to Viento State Park. The park ranger gave you a coloring book and you even saw a bright yellow train as it raced by on the tracks. We were going to go for a hike but it was super chilly (at least that's what Mommy thought), so instead we headed east and had lunch in Hood River. You did fantastic at lunch... grilled cheese and fries. Yummy! Now you are attempting mini nap #2 (since you napped a little in the car, we're hoping you'll go back to sleep for a little while.) What a fun afternoon!

Bye bye crib
Yesterday afternoon you took your first snooze in your big boy bed... and that evening, we took apart your crib and you slept all night long in your new bed. You love it!

Big boy!
"Do you want to hold the scissors while Mommy combs your hair?" Yes! Sweet... haircut attempt #3. Sorry about snipping your ear... next time I'll locate the actual hair scissors versus the fashion scissors Gramma gave me many years ago. Daddy LOVES your new do. And I like the new sweater we picked up at Target yesterday.
You love to read... and love giving things to Titus. Whether it's a food bowl, a toy, or a book- you love helping out. Somtimes you follow him and annoy him. He just can't escape your love :-)
Lately, we've been working on 'picking up' toys after we play with them. Do you know what we're doing tonight? We are going to go look at beds for you. A big boy bed! You are so tall that it's suggested we move you into a B E D. I've been doing some research and it seems like it'll be an easier switch straight to a big boy bed (and we can use the crib for your little brother or sister this fall.) At night you have been snuggling with the doggie Gramma gave you. Just need to lose the "plugs". Only when you are tired, do you go on a mission to find them during the day. Maybe Mommy should get herself a plug. I'm so tired this week. Guess it's my body adjusting and growing your sibling!

"Do you want the rolling pin, Titus?"
"Here, let me help you with the book."
"Look, it's a CAT!"
This rolling pin is HUGE!
Dr. Kevin told us that you should drink more milk
Nice hair dude!

Height and Weight... 1-27-11
On Monday you turned 18 months old... and we had your 18th month old appointment. You are 35 inches tall! And today at the vet's, you stepped on the doggie scale and it read "28.3" pounds.

Puddle man!
Rain or shine, we get outside everyday to explore! Today we bundled up and took a walk down our hill past the orchard (you walked all the way down and held onto Mommy's hand)... it's steep at times! We saw the neighbor's chickens and roosters, and then you had a blast splashing in the puddles. Good thing for your new boots. Warm and toasty toes you have!

You are going to be a big brother!!!
On Thursday night, January 20th, we discovered that you are going to be a big brother! Mommy took a pregnancy test before going to a meeting, and then when I got home, I took more. I think we took a total of 5 tests.... had to double, triple, quadruple, check! And, a friend shared that the dollar store's tests are 1/18th the price of regular store tests... and they work just as well. I still got an expensive one "just in case". We are so excited to have a brother/sister for you. You are soooo incredibly loving and caring... I can't wait to see you react to our newest family member. In September, we'll all meet... face to face. Sweeeeet!
Thanks Gramma!
It was so amazing... yesterday we called Gramma and you said in a very clear voice. "Gramma, I would love to have you buy me some play food for my new kitchen." WOW! (And your voice sounded so much like Mommy's... Amazing!) Gramma said she'd love to get you a present. Thanks for the new play food Gramma... and for the new rug. They are all being used in action today after our very traumatic trip to the doctor's. It was your 18 month check up today. You cried and cried.... oh, so not happy! At least you're having fun now!
You have a new set of vegetables and fruits that came in their own baskets... and breakfast items of sausages, toast, eggs, cheese, and even a cutting board and knife. They are machine washable too... very cool! And, Gramma bought you a set of stainless steel kitchen pans... with colander and fry pans. Awesome!
I know what to do with my fry pan... I watch Mommy cook me eggs every morning!

Toys, tots, and tears...
This morning we met Jenni and Coen for a short play date in Vancouver. They are moving to Hawaii in a couple months... what a fun adventure for their family. We will miss them and wish them blessings and love.
To our surprise, the cafe had a puppet show for extra entertainment this morning!!! Very cool. We listened to music and watched the puppets sing and dance, while you played on the indoor big toy. You loved the slide!!! We even did a little dance to "Old MacDonald!" The cafe has a kid safe play area that's gated off, and a table-chair area for adults to watch, or play with the kids if they want. I love being with you monkey! You are becoming more and more independent and like to wander off to explore. After an hour, you let me know you were ready to go. A little boy pushed you by the train table and you cried. Was this the first time you were bullied? So sad! Some hugs and kisses from Mommy, along with a distraction from Jenni, helped you smile again. You shared your chocolate chip cookie with Coen, and decided that pretzels tasted better. Eventually, you were ready to go... and repeatedly walked towards the door. We know you love being outside... it seems wherever we go, you look out the window and want to go out. Just like Mommy and Daddy!

Cookin' with Mama
Tonight we pulled up the big chair and you helped Mama cook some brussell sprouts (Daddy's favorite... not really!)
