"Read it book"

"Read it book" is what you now say when you want us to read to you, or if you want to read.  And you are saying "Alex" a ton!  On your bed, and all over the house, there are tubs/rain gutters filled with various books.  You LOVE LOVE LOVE to read!  You also have many many new phrases and words... and each day your language is becoming richer and more complex.  We've been in speech for about a month and Daddy and Mommy are learning a lot.  The big theme this week we are recognizing/re-learning is "wait time".  As Daddy was reading the book Each Peach, Pear, Plum... he paused and you completed some of the sentences.  We have read that book quite a bit, but it's been a while!  Amazing.  And tonight, Mommy read you Elmo Loves You... and you completed a teeny bit of that book too.  Our mantra is going to be "wait, wait, wait" and we are going to really focus on the OWL technique (Observe Wait Listen) and then let YOU lead the conversation.  Our new parent book, called It Takes Two to Talk, is filled with great ideas for encouraging speech development.  You are so smart buddy and it's awesome to see you grow and learn each day!
